He helped build X-Particles. Then he out-painted everyone with it.
The particle artist's particle artist.
Some artists use particle tools. Mario Tran Phuc spent years helping build them. Before going freelance he was a technical director and designer at INSYDIUM, the team behind X-Particles, and it shows in everything he touches. The man thinks in particles.
Today he directs and designs out of Frankfurt under the MTP STYLES banner, working in Cinema 4D and INSYDIUM Fused, with an art-direction past at Pixomondo and Chimney before the tool years. The client list reads the way you would expect: Epic, Apple, Amazon, Mercedes. Maxon put his work on the Cinema 4D 2025 splash screen, which is about as close to a knighthood as this industry gives out.
The recent one everybody saw, whether they knew it or not: the particle VFX for Fortnite x Hatsune Miku.
Here is why he lives on our wall: his particles never read as simulations. Every burst, ribbon, and bloom lands art-directed, color doing as much work as motion. When we say a sim should feel designed instead of solved, this is the reference. His Synthetic Art Series is the rabbit hole to start with.
He sells nothing, no packs, no tutorials, so sending value his way is simple: watch, follow, hire. Find him at mtp.studio, on Behance, and on Instagram.
