Why a blog
The studio keeps making things, and the stories finally have a place to live.
I have never run a blog. I do not even read blogs. So why start one?
Because the studio keeps making things, and the stories keep piling up with nowhere to go.
Perspective 12 has been building its own tools for years. Not as a side project. Out of necessity. When you spend every night inside the same pipeline, you hit the same walls over and over, and at some point you stop complaining and build the thing. That is how BoardStack happened. It is a reference board app for artists. We made it because we needed it, and it just went on sale at perspective12.com/boardstack. That felt like a moment worth writing down. Hence this page.
Here is the part I care about most, though. I am not the only one doing this. Friends in the crew, people I have worked with for years, are building their own tools too. Small utilities, big ambitious ones, things that solve a problem so specific you can tell exactly how long the person spent stuck on it. Nobody hears about this stuff. It gets built at 2am, it works, and then it just quietly runs. Those stories deserve better.
So that is the plan. Three kinds of posts:
- Project histories. How the work on the front page actually got made.
- Friend spotlights. The people in the crew and the tools they are building.
- The occasional CG find worth passing along.
No schedule promises. I write when there is something to say. The hours are the point around here, and most of them go into the work, not into writing about the work.
Next up: a friend of the studio has something coming, and I get to help tell that story. Soon.
